Pricing FAQ

The detailed billing and rent-collection rules, in plain language.

What is an active unit?

An active unit is any unit you have not deleted. You are billed for a unit from the moment you add it, whether or not it is currently occupied. If you no longer want to pay for a unit, delete it; vacant units still count toward your active total until then.

How much does Unitly cost?

Your first 5 active units are free. Units 6 to 10 are a flat $5 per month total. Each unit beyond 10 adds $1 per month. A few worked examples: 5 units is Free, 8 units is $5 per month, 15 units is $10 per month, and 25 units is $20 per month.

How does rent collection pricing work?

Online rent collection is available in Canada today, by bank transfer (PAD) or card; United States bank transfer (ACH) is coming. Collecting by bank transfer has no Unitly transaction fee while your subscription is active or while you are on the free plan. Card payments add the standard card-processing fee, which is paid by the tenant where local law allows. In good standing, Unitly takes no cut of the rent you collect.

What if my subscription becomes past due?

If your subscription is past due, a flat $1 per rent transaction applies. This fee is deducted from your payout and is never added to the tenant. It stops automatically once your subscription is active again.

What happens if a rent payment fails?

The payment is marked failed, and both you and the tenant are notified. The configured retry policy then applies, and if the payment is still not collected, the charge moves to late after the grace period. A payment is only final once it has settled; paid status is not confirmed before settlement.
