Security and Trust

Concrete answers about how Unitly handles your data.

About Unitly

Unitly is built and operated by a small independent team focused on simpler software for small and independent landlords. We are not a large enterprise vendor, and we try to be straightforward about what the product does and how it handles your data.

Where your data is hosted

Unitly runs on managed cloud infrastructure (Vercel for the application and Neon Postgres for the database), in United States cloud regions. We rely on these providers for the underlying servers, networking, and physical security of the data centers.

Backups

The managed Postgres database performs automated backups. This is intended to protect against data loss, though no backup system is a substitute for keeping your own copy, which is why you can export your data at any time.

Who handles payments

Rent and subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Raw card and bank details never pass through or are stored on Unitly servers. We keep references and payment status so you can track payouts, but the sensitive payment credentials stay with the payment processor.

Encryption and access

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and TLS. Access is property-scoped, so only the people you invite to a property can see that property’s data. Managers and tenants see only what their role and property assignment allow.

Export and deletion

You can export your data at any time, and you can request account deletion. Exporting gives you a copy of your records to keep, move, or archive on your own terms.

What happens if Unitly shuts down

Because you can export your data at any time, you always keep a copy of your records. If the Service were to wind down, your exported data remains usable independently of Unitly.

Uptime and status

A public version endpoint exists so you can verify which build is deployed at any time. A formal public status page is on our roadmap. We do not advertise a specific uptime guarantee, and we would rather be honest about that than promise a number we have not committed to.
